Welcome to Matthews talks

What is Matthews Talks?

Matthews Talks is a place where you can come to share what is important to you...and to our town.

There was a time in this country when towns had a spot in the public square, where anyone could express ideas or discuss subjects for which they had great passion.

Having freedom of assembly and freedom of speech to share ideas was a key element in the formation of our country. They're such cherished rights that they're enshrined in the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Matthews Talks..is that spot in the public square. This is the place where you can discuss issues that matter to you and our town with everyone in our community.

What are we going to talk about?

In a word, everything: Government, the environment, race relations, affordable housing, schools, roads, development, how we want our lovely town to grow and much more. You'll hear from citizens just like you on topics that are important to them and to our town.

Would You like to Be a Speaker?

We want you to share what you're passionate about. It'll be fun and easy to take part, and it won't cost you a penny: All production costs are paid by donors who want more voices to be heard in Matthews.

Clicking on Share your Story will bring you to the I Want to be a Speaker screen. Here, you can enter your contact information and describe your topic. Someone will contact you to guide you through the process of becoming a voice in Matthews. While you're there, take a look at the "how it's made" video to see what a great time you can have being a speaker.

Would You Like More Voices to Be Heard?

Clicking on Donate will give you the opportunity to contribute to Matthews Talks, whether you wish to be a speaker or not. Please donate as generously as you can, so more voices can be heard.

Thank you for visiting with us, and I hope you enjoy watching and listening to your neighbors sharing their thoughts.
